For insurance purposes, we consider a family member as your:
- spouse (by marriage, domestic partnership or civil union)
- parents and stepparents
- children, stepchildren, foster children, adopted children or children currently in the adoption process
- siblings
- grandparents and grandchildren
- in-laws (must be mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister or grandparent)
- aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews
- legal guardians and wards
- paid, live-in caregivers
- cohabitants (who are at least 18 years old and have lived with you for at least 12 consecutive months)
