It is important to keep the medical information on your travel insurance policy accurate and up to date, to avoid delays or difficulties in the event of a claim.
Please call our UK-based Sales and Service team on 01903 255 650 as soon as possible if, after buying your policy and before booking or starting a trip, someone named on your policy:
- Is diagnosed with a new medical condition
- Experiences new or recurring symptoms or have an undiagnosed condition
- Has a change to their prescribed medication (including the dosage)
- Receives in-patient medical treatment
- Is placed on a waiting list for investigation or medical treatment
When you call, we’ll ask you some questions about your travelling party’s medical condition(s) which may result in:
- The change in health being accepted for cover at no extra charge for your pre-booked trip(s)
- The need to pay an additional premium to allow cover to be provided for all your medical conditions and associated conditions under an upgraded policy
- Us asking you to cancel trip(s) booked before the change in health happened and make a claim under section ‘Trip Cancellation’ for costs which cannot be recovered elsewhere
Pregnancy cover
If your change in health is pregnancy related, please note that pregnancy is not considered a 'medical condition' under a Coverwise Travel Insurance policy, and does not need to be included as part of your medical declaration.
