Frequently Asked Questions

Can Coverwise provide cover for known pre-existing medical conditions?

Your policy wording and Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) will confirm the underwriter of your travel insurance policy. Please select the relevant insurer below to view the FAQ information that applies to your policy.

The following FAQ provides information about travel insurance policies underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance S.A. If your policy wording and IPID confirm that Inter Partner Assistance S.A. is your insurer, this FAQ information is relevant to your policy.

We are pleased to confirm that we are now able to offer cover for pre-existing medical conditions on our new 'select' policies subject to a brief assessment and where appropriate by collecting additional premiums.

Our purchase process online and in the call centre captures information that allows us to assess whether you are eligible to buy a policy from us. During the process we will ask questions about the health of anyone you wish to insure and anyone upon whose health your trip may depend. We can offer cover for a large variety of pre-existing medical conditions subject to declaration, screening and where relevant the payment of an additional premium.

It is important that any questions presented through the sales process whether on line or within the call centre are answered completely and accurately. If you or anyone you wish to insure has pre-existing medical conditions it is essential that you inform us of all relevant medical conditions throughout the sales process as we do not offer policies with partial cover.

For example if you suffer from asthma, eczema and high blood pressure, we must screen all three conditions, if you declare two out of three conditions, cover in the event of a claim is likely to be declined for the conditions that you have and have not declared.

We are open from 9am until 6pm Monday to Friday and from 9am until 2pm on a Saturday.
