Winter Sports Travel Insurance
Planning a skiing or snowboarding holiday?
Winter Sports Cover can be added to our Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policies, providing additional protection for certain winter sports activities and equipment.
Whether you're heading into the mountains for skiing, snowboarding, or another eligible activity, this optional cover can help protect you against some of the additional risks associated with winter sports travel.
What's covered?
When Winter Sports Cover is added to your policy, it provides cover for:
- Ski equipment that is lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged (and the cost to hire replacement equipment as a result)
- Delayed arrival of ski equipment
- Loss of lift pass
- Unexpected piste closure
- Avalanche and landslide delay
Our standard travel insurance benefits still apply
In addition, all of our travel insurance policies include cover for:
- Cancelling your trip before you travel
- Cutting short your trip and returning home early
- Emergency medical treatment and repatriation costs abroad (including access to a 24-hour Emergency Medical Assistance Service)
- Travel delays and disruption
- Missed departure
- Lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed baggage
- Loss of personal money and important travel documents
- Personal liability
- Personal accident benefits
- Legal expenses
When purchasing your policy, you can also choose optional Gadget Cover for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and other portable electronic devices.
How long can winter sports trips be covered for?
If you purchase Winter Sports Cover:
Single Trip policies - Winter sports trips can be covered for up to 31 days
Annual Multi-Trip policies - Winter sports trips can be covered for up to 17 days per trip during your annual period of insurance
Choose the level of cover that's right for you
Winter Sports Cover can be added to our five levels of travel insurance policy:
- Standard Plus
- Bronze
- Silver Plus
- Gold
- Platinum
Each level has different benefit limits and excess amounts. When choosing a policy, consider the number of trips you plan to take, the value of your travel, accommodation and the baggage you are taking with you, and any optional cover you may need.
Before purchasing, we recommend reviewing the cover limits, exclusions, and policy documents to ensure you select the level of cover that best meets your needs.
