Spring storms in the USA cause over one thousand cancelled flights

Spring storms unleashed heavy snow, rain and high winds, including tornadoes, across parts of the central United States this Wednesday, leaving thousands of travellers either stranded at airports or unable to even leave their destination.

The severe conditions set in on Tuesday, grounding nearly 500 flights from Denver International Airport and dropping hail stones, some the size of tennis balls, across Texas and Oklahoma.

Many flights to and from the main from New York airports have also been cancelled.

Officials are confident that the situation will improve within the next couple of days, but there are still many flight cancellations to be expected during this week.

We recommend that you call your airline to check whether your travel arrangements will be affected by the unseasonal weather conditions.
