Widespread flooding continues in Thailand

September and October are the height of the monsoon season in Thailand. However, heavy rainfall in early November across the country continues to cause widespread flooding, flash floods and mudslides and has resulted in disruption and over 350 deaths. The most affected areas are the north, north-east and central Thailand.

The Foreign office are currently advising against all ‘non-essential travel’

If you are due to travel to affected areas in Thailand, your first port of call should be your airline and/or tour operator who may offer you some flexibility with your trip.

It is also advisable to contact your travel insurer who may be in a position to change your original travel dates to accommodate alternative arrangements as long as you are not making a claim.

Ensure you stay up-to-date with the latest travel advice from the foreign and commonwealth website at www.fco.gov.uk.
