Frequently Asked Questions

Will my annual policy be automatically renewed when it expires?

Renewals on annual multi trip policies

When you buy a Coverwise travel insurance policy, you can choose if you want the policy to renew automatically.

We will send you a renewal notice at least 21 days before the end of your insurance period.

This will show:

  • The price you paid last year,
  • The cost to renew,
  • If your policy will automatically renew,
  • How you can make changes to your policy, and
  • What you need to do if you don't want your policy to renew.

You should check this to make sure all your details are still correct and if not, contact the sales and service team before your policy renews.

Our normal office opening hours are 9am to 6pm on Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturday.

Automatic renewals

Renewing this way should avoid a gap in cover and you will continue to have cover to cancel a trip.

If you have not told us you do not want your policy to automatically renew, we will take payment and renew your policy 2 days before your policy ends.

If payment does not go through, for example your card details are out of date, we will contact you. Your policy will not renew, and you will not have cover in place after the expiry date.

Manual renewals

We will contact you before your policy expires to explain what you need to do if you want to continue your cover.
